The Kitchen at The Parker House is provided as a convience for guest to prepare simple meals or snack. The Kitchen is a full-service kitchen with the ususal appliances available (stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, coffee brewer, and toaster oven). The smaller kitchen items (cookware, dishes, flatware, glassware, utensils, and serving dishes) have been minimalized to enhance cleaning efficiency between guests.
Banquet and Conference Room Events
The kitchen, dining areas and conference room are available for rent for special occasions. These events must be scheduled in advance. An additional banquet or conference fee is applicable. The fee is negotiable depending upon the size of the group and the extent of services and cleaning that is required. The Parker House can reasonably accomodate up to 32 people for a sit-down dinner or conference utilizing the Sun-Room. Additional table, chairs and dinnerware are available. Recommendations for local caterers are available upon request. Current CDC guidelines for group events will be strictly applied.
There are no laundry facilities at The Parker House. There is a Laundromat within walking distance. It is located on a small street just across from the Post Office.
There is no daily maid service. Linens, soap and shampoo are provided. Guests staying two or more days may request periodic fresh linens and room cleaning.
Bicycles are NOT permited in the house. There are open large metal bike racks at the rear of The Parker House. Also, there is an enclosed bike storage building behind the house. These bike areas are provided for your convenience. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR BICYCLES. ALWAYS secure your bicycle with a good lock and chain when it is unattended. Loaner locks are available during your stay.
NO PETS are permitted at The Parker House. We have many guests that have allergies to pets and the additional cleaning required would be time and cost prohibitive.
You are responsible for your keys to the house and your room. In addition to room keys, all guests are given a key to one of the outside doors so they can come and go at their leisure. Also, you are responsible for all keys upon leaving the house. Keys may be left in each door or on the first floor desk. There is a $50 fee for any key not returned because it requires us to call a locksmith to change the locks.
Smoking inside The Parker House is strictly prohibited. Smoking is permitted on the outside porches. Please dispose of cigarette butts in appropriate containers.
Cleaning / Damage Deposit
Guests are responsible for any excessive cleaning, missing items or broken items. For guests renting single rooms, your credit card information will suffice as a potential damage deposit. You will receive notification prior to any additional fees being added to your credit card. A $150 usage and breakage deposit may be required before your visit for multiple-room rentals, whole-house rentals, conference and/or banquet rentals. This fee would apply only if additional or unusual cleaning is required as a result of your visit (i.e. wine spills on the carpet), or permanent damage/breakage occurs to linens, glassware, appliances, furniture or the house.
The maximum number of guests staying overnight at The Parker House is 16 adults. Sleeping on sofas, on chairs, on the floor, or in common areas is prohibited.
Health and Safety
We are committed to provide you with a safe and clean environment We follow local, state, and federal guidelines for any significant health or environmental issue. During the Covid-19 pandemic we adopted the Safety Procedures for Businesses established by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Pennsylvania Department of Health
As the pandemic wanes and modifies these recommendations fluctuate. However, we encourage all guests to the use the following general cleanliness guidelines:
1. The number of persons in The Parker House at any one time is limited to enhance social distancing. Please to not invite visitors or non-registered guests into the House.2. Enhanced cleaning and disinfecting procedures have been established throughout the House. Special attention is given to high-contact surfaces such as doorknobs, light switches, kitchen counter tops and appliances. Please use the disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizers distributed throughout the House frequently.
3. Please honor the on-or-before 10:00 am check-out time. This allows ample time for cleaning, sanitizing, and airing the house between guests.
